Remember when you were young and you had one favorite outfit that you would like to wear day in and day out? Remember when you were young and you had one favorite outfit that you would like to wear day in and day out? Your favorite pair of jeans, that comfy sweater, and those old but oh-so-good-looking pair of sneakers. They were the ultimate outfit that made you look cool, but also the outfit that gave you that special feeling. The feeling of safety and being part of your club of friends at high school. As soon as your outfit needed to be washed, you couldn’t wait until it was fresh again to start wearing it. You didn’t need a few handfuls of different jeans. Or 10 pairs of sneakers. All you wanted was that outfit that was the best in your opinion. Your dream outfit! Back in the Days Denim was made in the first place as workwear. Due to the sturdy fabric, it was chosen as the way to go to do hard labor. Denim fabrics simply stand the test of time. Most of these blue-collar laborers didn’t have a lot of money. They had one or maybe two outfits for their entire work career. And in their spare time, they also had only a handful of key styles to wear. They didn’t shop each weekend for a new pair of jeans. A new shirt or jacket. And when their jeans got ripped they repaired it so it was ready for the next round. A different mindset compared to nowadays. Way more sustainable you could say… The Clothes at Vintage Stores Even when you go to vintage stores, you will see that this vintage clothing is still ready to wear. Even after all those years. And maybe also after all the different owners of that jeans or denim jacket. Not to forget that these items immediately feel like a second skin, super soft and comfortable. And they have those ultimate natural wear pattern on jeans already. Something hard to beat in a denim factory most of the time. The Group of Conscious People Luckily, the group of people is growing that want to invest in durable, sustainable-made clothing. Clothing that is produced for conscious people who feel better when the story behind a certain pair of jeans feels right. That it is produced to wear for a long time. So not seasonable, but classics that are here to stay forever. And when they don’t fit the jeans anymore, or when they don’t like the washing or whatever on that specific jeans, they pass it on to a friend. Or they sell it via one of the popular resell platforms for vintage clothing. This is to keep the jeans alive as long as possible. Key Styles in Your Closet In the end, you don’t need piles and piles of clothing in your closet. Take denim for example. There are always a few that fit you the best. The ones that make you feel good. And most of the time, this is one of your oldest or most trashed pairs. But still, after many years, you wear them every time with so much pleasure. That’s because denim only gets better with age of course. But, it's also because it's timeless. It's seasonless. And if you pick the right denim styles, they won’t let you down for many years to come. But, this isn’t only the case for denim. This is also when it comes to other classics. Classic pieces like a leather jacket, an authentic woolen sweatshirt, handmade leather shoes, and t-shirts that are carefully and durable produced. And of course, also accessories such as sunglasses, and a timeless designed bag can be framed as all-time classics. With these classic pieces, you can mix and match many outfits. Outfits that can give you each time a different look. But always classy and on point. Combine your sweater and jeans with that heavy worn-in wax jacket. The next time, that same jeans can be mixed with a second-hand blazer that you scored in your favorite vintage store. Same jeans, different look. Think Twice When Shopping And when it comes to denim. You can match each denim style with each other. Whether it's blue, black, or ecru denim. Even rainbow-colored denim styles are ready to match. It's all about creativity, and how you style it. You don’t need piles and piles of clothing, or denim in your closet. You just need a few good items that you can combine each time. Denim items that are made with premium denim fabrics so you can enjoy them for many years to come. And also don’t forget, you only have two arms and two legs, so you can only wear one outfit at a time! Simple as that. Next time when you go shopping, think twice if you really need it, and if it's a complementary piece in your wardrobe that be can worn for many years to come.
